Interesting.

I liked this, it was interesting, although it felt isolated. And I also can't help but point out that Alaska looks nothing like that in the summer, unless you're in the middle of a glacier, which is a very bad idea (very, very unsafe). In reality, its actually quite green and beautiful, and in some places only gets up to 80 degrees (F) on a warm day. Having used to live there myself, I know. Still an interesting submission though.

I wish watching this would help keep cool. But in Fresno, even a placebo-like effect of believing in a cooling effect can't stand up to the heat here.

PacmanDelux3 responds:

Thankyou. You have interesting insight.
Sorry I couldn't help your heat problem. T_T

Fuckin' Win, man. Win.

Awesome flash. I love the Ingus series and can't wait for the next full episode.

Also, am I getting it right? I think the subliminal message says "Beware the wrath of Ingus"

I could swear I saw the word "Eat" somewhere at a different time, but then again that may just be 5:00 AM getting to me. Unless I am right and the subliminal message is selected randomly from a list or something.

Still, awesome flash.

KupaMan responds:

I can't explain the "EAT" that you saw. That's a little strange.

Wow. Pretty good.

When I saw the title on the "Most recently uploaded" list, the first thing to go through my mind was, "Oh god, not another TooF parody, that crap ended already, months ago." Then I realized it was an actual TooF episode, to which I thought, "Oh hey, awesome!"

Good work with this one. It looks like its going somewhere, and I like that. Good animating, neat plot, continuing Metal Gear reference. Ehehehe, I just thought up a potentially awesome standalone satire... "Dental Gear Solid" But whether or not that sucks is up to you, or whoever decides to steal the idea, to which point I don't care because its a play on words that'll probably send me to Pun Hell for even comprehending anyway.

Anywhatz, good job.

MACception responds:

Lol...Dental Gear Solid...

Sounds funny, but not sure how I could fit it in the plot...we'll see :D

Thanks dude.

Sorry, but at least you tried.

I'm sorry, I know you meant well, but this flash is really not very good. I'm not saying it because its a sprite movie, I'm sayng it because it is an excessively sub par sprite movie. I actually like sprite movie, but there are a good few things in yours that really could use improvement. Lots, and lots of improvement.

First of all, I'm a sprite editor. I like to make edits of sprites to make them look like other characters or things. I know you didn't make the edits you used, and I know where those sprites came from. On the original sheets, they looked great. However, you don't seem to know how to cut/copy and paste very well. The sprites were horribly resized, and it looks like you were using one of those tracing select tools, which would explain the excessive amounts of the spritesheets' backgrounds ripped with the sprites themselves.

Learning how to use transparence or make a selected color "opaque" (in this case, the 'background' color) would help, rather than trying to trace around the sprite with a different selector tool.

Also, when resizing sprites, never, ever, EVER use any other increments than 50% and 200% to halve and double the size, respectively. If one resizing with one of those isn't enough, do it again with the same number. Don't stretch and shrink sprites on your own, it looks terrible in the end. Use an automatic resizer. MSPaint has a decent one.

Next, music was really not that great. A lot of the time it went to from quiet to loud, and back to quiet from song to song. A lot of the music didn't even feel right with the SSBM stages you used them in.
If you can fix the music quality, as well as your sprites, it would be a big improvement.

Animation itself, you at least know you you're not that great at animated violence (or apparently just animating in general).

If I came off as offensive and insulting in my review, I didn't mean to sound that way. I'm just trying to help you, and in order for you go get the right help, you gotta get the blunt truth.

So I hope my review helps you, if even a little.

mikejack145 responds:

now i think this review is a little better then the other ones... thanks for the advice! I will definitley trie it out.

Great, but a few flaws

This was a very good submission, and it's a very good follow up for those of us such as myself who enjoyed the previous There's Something About Halo collab. Most of the humor was great, my personal favorite was Legendary Frog's, but you all did exceptionally well.

My only real problem was found in The Super Flash Bros.' segment. I noticed that the quality kept changing to medium even though I set it to high. It's not my computer, or my web connection, as it's never happened before in any flash submissions. If you can get this problem fixed, that'd be a very convenient improvement. For those of you viewers who have a similar problem, My solution is to right click on the very edge to the right, and near the bottom, and just hold the mouse on high quality. Make sure you position it right so that it doesn't obscure anything significant on the viewscreen. Just be sure you've already set it to high quality before trying this.
I haven't fully made sure it works, but it seemed to work for me while I was watching. As soon as the SFB's segment is done, you can let go and it'll retain the high setting.

The-Super-Flash-Bros responds:

Actually, that was intentional - if our segment is viewed in high quality, all but the newest of computers have a hard time running it at full speed, because of the intensity of the graphics. Since medium doesn't look much worse than high, we decided to set the quality to that. Glad you enjoyed the rest though :)

Pretty good

I liked this cartoon. It's best when watched as a follow up to Balthor's Tales From Hell. Personally, I didn't like the scene on the toilet, but considering your work, it'll pass. Though to be honest, shit jokes can only go so far. But then again, I've seen shit jokes that go really far and I've no idea how they do.

Still, a good flash overall.

Matzerath responds:

Yeah, that wasn't the best shit joke in the world, admittedly -- I animated it first and then got stuck on a punchline. Oh well.
Though I still think 'Looks like the real-estate bubble is about to burst' is pretty good!

Congratulations!

Congratulations! You win the Internet. Seriously. I love humor that's so odd, random, and just out of the blue like this. It's flash animators like you that make me want to become one myself.
And as an added bonus, you can understand what I'm typing in this review! Yay for actually having a legitimate grasp on the English language!
As a little extra question, will any of the other Greasy Moose comics be animated? I'd really love to see more animated versions of the various exploits of Gooseman and other characters.

Sexual-Lobster responds:

thanks dude,
i've got more plans for gooseman animations but they're new ideas, i was considering doing the comic where he's in nepal, but probably not for a while

My name's Jeff.
